Loot Policy

The loot policy that Astorian Alliance uses is not complicated. We roll need before greed, always.

Not sure what that means? It's simple. If you intend to equip an item for the character that you are currenlty playing, you roll "need" for the item and all other members of the party not intending to equip it should pass. If you can't equip the item, then you don't actually need it. If you wear cloth armor, you shouldn't need on leather. If you wear leather, you shouldn't need on mail. If you can't use wands, don't roll need on a wand. If the item is something you would like to "hang on to" until you can use it, say a sword drops but you haven't trained in swords but want to now that you have a reason, the decision is up to the group. Also, if you would like to roll need so that you can send a non BOE to an alt, that decison is also up to the group.

If no one in the party can equip or immediately use the item, if there is an available enchanter than can disenchant the item, they should roll need and disenchant it. Then, the group can /roll on the shard or dust as a greed roll. What the item disenchants to is usually more valuable in the market place than the item itself.

If no one in the party can equip the item and no enchanters are there, then all members should roll greed.
